Shakespeare wrote a great many poems and plays which are famous all over the world. Not only Hamlet, but you might've heard of Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, King Lear and MachBeth. He wrote plays about a number of people on this website as well: Cleopatra, Julius Caesar and Henry VIII.
On August 14th 1600, he even published a play about Henry V called "The life of Henry the Fifth". Primarily this play focusses on the events right before, during and after "The Battle of Agincourt". This historical play contributed enormously to the popularity of King Henry V. |
