Al Capone
Date: 14-02-1929
Al Capone was an American gangster with an Italian background. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and joined the criminal "Five Points Gang" as teenager. During a fight to protect his sister, he was stabbed in the faced and it left a big scar on his face. This gave him the nickname "Scarface".
Later he left for Chicago where, during the Prohibition era, he became one of the most powerful crime bosses of that time. Al Capone made his fortune by illegally selling alcohol, he ran illegal gambling establishments and ran a network of prostitution.
On 14-02-1929 (Valentines Day) seven men, who had gathered in a garage, were killed in cold blood by machine guns. This garage was a cover up for the Northside Gang, who sold alcohol in Chigago and therefor a rival of Al Capone. Although it's never been proven, it was very likely that Al Capone gave the order to kill these men. This day would go down in history as the "Saint Valentine's Day Massacre".
