Robin Hood stole from the rich and gave to the poor. For this he used his famous longbow and was assisted by his "Merry Men". Best known is "Little John". A huge and very strong man who wasn't scared for anyone or anything.
Robin was madly in love with the Maid Marian, an independent and courageous woman locked op in a monastery. According the legends, Robin was continuously chased by the Sheriff of Nottingham. There is probably some truth in that. Historians think that the name Robehud or Rabunhod during that time was a general nickname for criminals. |
